Chia & Lim's Open Letter

Joel Chia and Jeshaiah Lim had been long-standing followers of Elijah Thomas Chacko until their separation in late 2018. Joel first met ‘brother Thomas’ in 1983, whilst involved in ‘Jesus Saves Mission‘ (JSM) in Singapore. In 1984 he joined Thomas’ official group, which was informally known as the ‘Elijah Fire Group’. In contrast, Jeshaiah first came across Elijah Thomas Chacko in 1989, whilst resident in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In 2002, Jeshaiah put aside his career to serve Elijah full-time as his personal assistant. He was therefore in a position to witness Elijah’s teaching and manner of life in public and in private for a number of years. In 2011, Elijah appointed Joel and Jeshaiah to represent him in China. This they did, serving conscientiously and faithfully and being commended and praised by all (including Elijah) until 2018, when they decisively separated. Their separation triggered an immediate and merciless onslaught of slander and abuse. See my article ‘Chia & Lim Defended‘ for more information on this. To the present, Joel and Jeshaiah have quietly suffered the reproach that has been heaped against them. Their concern has been to inquire to the very heart of the matter, that is, to reflect upon what sort of gospel Elijah espouses. The following letter contains the first part of their carefully researched and considered analysis of Elijah Thomas Chacko’s gospel. It deserves to be prayerfully and reflectively studied by all who have once embraced or continue to embrace Elijah Chacko’s teachings.

Open Letter (Part 1): Chacko’s distortion of Redemption Accomplished and Redemption Applied

Open Letter (Part 2): Chacko’s heretical stance on Saving Faith and Justification by Faith
